Apologies for the silence. Had a rather unproductive weekend and now spent a even less productive day blowing a tax rebate on an iPod. Yes, I know I claim poverty. And I'm broke most of the time. But sorting out my tax recently has helped improve matters (it seems I was paying way, way, way too much tax each month). I'm also a sucker for technology and I think I needed something to cheer myself up. It's wrong. It's bad. I don't deserve it. But...

An ipod is a necessity these days, rebate claimable soon.
Yes you do.
It's a Christmas present from you to you - you deserve it. Enjoy!
The times you've been having, it's the very least you deserve, I'd say (not that I see the attraction of the things myself - Me II've still got an old-fangled Discman-type thing, with a semi-translucent cover - thanks to which I've learnt that the discs go whizzing round for a bit, then stop, then start again - which seems quite counterintuitive to me, but what do I know?)...

Ms Baroque, looking forward to the poetry reading. I've discovered how to type on it, so I'll be sure to write you some fiendishly difficult questions.
Amy, when you put it like that, it's hard to deny it myself. I will enjoy, as soon as the damn thing finishes syncing with my iTunes.
Ah, Nige, the CD player has become the gramophone of the modern age. I somehow know that you'd hold out, as I feel ashamed that I've moved on. Everything sounded so much better on a CD.
I still listen to the odd tape cassette too Dick - rather fond of the little blighters to be honest...
That's almost a claim to fame. They're so fragile that it's hard to believe that they can survive like LPs.
